About the Role

Our client seeks a skilled Installation and Maintenance Technician to join their Durban operations. This role involves the on-site installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of specialized equipment for a diverse clientele. You will be crucial in ensuring that client systems are operating at peak performance, responding to service calls, and performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. This position offers a blend of hands-on work at client locations and potential for remote planning and reporting, contributing to the robust operational backbone of our client's service offerings in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission new equipment at client sites according to technical specifications.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues encountered in the field.
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls and resolve issues efficiently to minimize client disruption.
• Provide basic training to clients on equipment operation and routine upkeep.
• Maintain accurate service logs and reports, detailing work performed and parts used.

Requirements

• Proven experience in equipment installation and maintenance, preferably within the (Specific Industry, e.g., industrial machinery, telecommunications) sector.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a field environment.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Durban region.
