NLP Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer to join their advanced AI research and development team in Soweto . This role focuses on building and improving systems that understand, interpret, and generate human language. You will work on exciting projects involving text analysis, sentiment analysis, chatbots, language translation, and more. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy NLP models and algorithms for various language understanding tasks.
• Process and analyze large volumes of text data, extracting relevant features and insights.
• Build and refine machine learning pipelines for NLP applications, including text classification, named entity recognition, and summarization.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to integrate NLP solutions into production systems.
• Evaluate and benchmark NLP models, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in NLP and computational linguistics.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field with an NLP focus.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Natural Language Processing and machine learning.
• Proficiency in Python and relevant NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, SpaCy, Transformers, Hugging Face).
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) applied to NLP tasks.
• Strong understanding of linguistic principles and statistical modeling for text data.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
