Civil Design Engineer - Roads and Pavements

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer with expertise in roads and pavements to join their team based in Mahikeng, North West . You will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of road infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. This role involves detailed design work, technical analysis, and collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality transportation solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop road alignments, geometric layouts, and pavement structures.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities for road projects.
• Conduct pavement design analysis, material selection, and perform traffic impact studies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant design standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and other consultants throughout the design and construction phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in transportation or roads.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in the design of roads and pavement structures.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Pavement Design Software (e.g., Dynatest), and relevant modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical principles related to pavement design.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
