About the Role
Our client seeks a warm and reliable Nanny and Early Years Assistant to provide exceptional care for children in their home located in Cape Town . This role involves ensuring the daily well-being, safety, and developmental needs of the children are met with professionalism and genuine affection. You will engage children in age-appropriate activities, support their learning, and maintain a structured yet nurturing daily routine. The ideal candidate will bring experience in childcare, a proactive approach to fostering a child's growth, and a commitment to maintaining a positive and stimulating home environment, contributing to the family's peace of mind and the children's joyful development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and responsible childcare, ensuring the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Engage children in educational and recreational activities, including reading, playing, and outdoor time.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding for the children, adhering to dietary guidelines.
- Maintain tidiness in children's play areas and bedrooms, and assist with light household duties related to the children.
- Support children's routines, including nap times and bedtime schedules.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding the children's activities, behavior, and any concerns.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a nanny, babysitter, or early years assistant.
- Excellent references from previous childcare positions.
- Demonstrated understanding of child development and age-appropriate care practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification is required.
- Patience, reliability, and a genuine love for working with children.
