About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join their advanced service center in Paarl . In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting the most complex mechanical and electronic issues across a wide range of vehicle makes and models. You will utilize cutting-edge diagnostic equipment and your extensive expertise to identify problems that other technicians cannot resolve. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering accurate and efficient repairs, playing a vital role in maintaining vehicle performance and customer trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth diagnostics on complex vehicle systems, including engine performance, transmission issues, and advanced electronic controls.
- Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic software and hardware to accurately identify faults and their root causes.
- Develop detailed repair plans and provide clear explanations of findings to service advisors and customers.
- Conduct road tests and system checks to verify repair effectiveness and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Stay current with the latest automotive technologies, diagnostic procedures, and manufacturer updates.
- Mentor junior technicians, sharing expertise and guiding them through challenging diagnostic tasks.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as an Automotive Diagnostic Technician , with a strong focus on troubleshooting complex issues.
- Deep understanding of modern vehicle electronic systems, including ECUs, sensors, and networks.
- Proficiency with a variety of automotive diagnostic tools and oscilloscopes.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE certifications in advanced diagnostics) are highly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
