Industrial Cleaner Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Industrial Cleaner Supervisor to lead their cleaning team in Pretoria . This role requires a blend of hands‑on cleaning expertise and supervisory skills to ensure all industrial areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. The supervisor will be responsible for directing daily operations, training staff, and upholding rigorous sanitation protocols, with some flexibility for hybrid work arrangements, balancing site supervision with administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the daily activities of the industrial cleaning crew, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the quality of cleaning and identify areas needing attention or improvement.
• Train new cleaning staff on proper cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and safety procedures, including chemical handling .
• Manage the scheduling and allocation of staff to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts and areas.
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ordering replacements as needed and ensuring proper storage.
• Enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the cleaning operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a cleaning supervisor or in a similar leadership role within an industrial or commercial cleaning environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industrial cleaning chemicals, equipment, and techniques.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the workplace.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage schedules, staff, and resources effectively.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, potentially including some weekends, and participate in hybrid work model.
