Senior Electrical Engineer - Grid Integration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Grid Integration to join their innovative team in Centurion . This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless and stable integration of renewable energy sources into the existing power grid infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing solutions that address the technical challenges associated with grid stability, power quality, and energy storage systems. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for the effective integration of renewable energy projects (solar, wind) into the national grid.
• Conduct power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis, using industry-standard software.
• Design and specify grid connection equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
• Collaborate with utility companies, regulatory agencies, and project development teams to ensure compliance with grid codes and interconnection standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to grid integration and power system performance.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in grid technology, energy storage, and smart grid solutions.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on grid integration and power system analysis.
• Proficiency in power system simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or PSCAD.
• Thorough understanding of grid codes, interconnection standards, and utility requirements.
• Experience with energy storage systems and their integration into the grid is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
