Buyer - Industrial Supplies

About the Role

Our client requires a proactive and experienced Buyer specializing in Industrial Supplies to join their team in Richards Bay . This role is essential for sourcing and acquiring a wide range of industrial materials, equipment, and services necessary for the company's operations in the manufacturing sector. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of goods, and achieving cost efficiencies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial procurement processes and a keen eye for detail, contributing significantly to the smooth functioning of operations in KwaZulu-Natal .

Key Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate with, and manage suppliers of industrial machinery, raw materials, and consumables.
• Ensure procurement activities align with project timelines and operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and coordinate with stores and production teams.
• Conduct regular price benchmarking and explore cost-saving opportunities.
• Verify the quality and specifications of goods received against purchase orders.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Buyer, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment, materials, and supplier markets.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
