Social Media Community Moderator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Social Media Community Moderator to join their team. This is a fully remote, part-time position, perfect for individuals who are passionate about maintaining positive online environments and ensuring brand safety. You will be responsible for monitoring social media channels, enforcing community guidelines, responding to user inquiries, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for customers and followers. Your role is crucial in protecting the brand's reputation and enhancing user experience across all digital touchpoints, ideally based remotely and available to support communities including those in Soweto .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor social media platforms for user-generated content, comments, and discussions.
• Enforce community guidelines and terms of service by moderating content and taking appropriate action.
• Respond to user inquiries and comments in a timely, professional, and brand-consistent manner.
• Identify and report trends, emerging issues, and user feedback to the social media team.
• Escalate critical issues, such as customer service complaints or potential crises, to the relevant departments.
• Contribute to maintaining a positive and safe online community environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in social media moderation, customer service, or community management is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and online community dynamics.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and objective when dealing with sensitive or negative content.
• Proficiency in using social media monitoring and management tools.
• Self-disciplined and able to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote setting.
