About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Equipment Engineer to join their operations team in Polokwane . This role involves the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical equipment critical to our client's operations. You will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial machinery, a practical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively in both on-site and remote collaboration scenarios, contributing to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and procure mechanical equipment and systems for new installations or upgrades.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project timelines.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures, implementing timely and effective repair solutions.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams, providing technical support and expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical equipment design, operation, or maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, pumps, motors, piping systems, and rotating equipment.
• Experience with maintenance management systems and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model , balancing site visits with remote analysis.
• Good understanding of safety protocols and regulations within industrial environments.
