About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Quantity Surveyor to join their established construction firm in Welkom . This role is fundamental to the financial success of our projects, requiring diligent cost estimation, contract administration, and value management. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that all construction works are procured and executed cost-effectively, meeting both quality and budgetary requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities for tender and project purposes.
• Administer construction contracts, including managing variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, reporting on budget performance and forecasting final costs.
• Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and contract compliance.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress, measure work executed, and verify interim payments.
• Provide expert advice on cost-saving measures and value engineering options.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., SACQSP) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in measurement standards (e.g., SMM2) and relevant software.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JBCC, FIDIC).
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills .
