Senior Product Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Product Development Engineer to lead new product initiatives from concept through to market launch in Mahikeng . This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes, coupled with strong project management capabilities. You will be instrumental in driving the development cycle, ensuring that new products meet performance, cost, and quality targets. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with a passion for innovation, eager to contribute to the advancement of our client's product portfolio within the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and testing of new mechanical products and systems.


• Translate market requirements into detailed technical specifications and design concepts.


• Conduct rigorous analysis, simulations, and prototyping to validate product designs.


• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain.


• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful product launches.


• Oversee the transition of new products from R&D to mass production, ensuring manufacturability in Mahikeng .

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.


• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in product development and engineering.


• Proven track record of successfully bringing new products to market.


• Expertise in CAD software and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.


• Strong understanding of materials science, stress analysis, and manufacturing processes .


• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills vital for team coordination in North West .
