Special Needs Educator - Learning Support

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Needs Educator to provide learning support within their inclusive school environment in Mossel Bay . This role is dedicated to assisting students with diverse learning needs, developing personalized educational plans, and implementing strategies to foster their academic and social development. You will work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure students receive the appropriate support to thrive. This position is ideal for an educator with a passion for inclusive education and a commitment to unlocking each student's potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Provide direct instructional support and targeted interventions to students in small groups or one-on-one settings.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt classroom materials and activities to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Monitor student progress, document interventions, and communicate regularly with parents and school staff.
• Advocate for the needs of students with special educational requirements within the school community.

Requirements

• A recognized teaching qualification with a specialization in Special Needs Education or Learning Support.
• At least 4 years of experience working with students with various learning disabilities and challenges.
• Proficiency in differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and IEP development .
• Strong understanding of child psychology and learning support methodologies.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and empathetic skills to support students in Western Cape .
