Subsea Engineer - Pipeline Integrity

About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Subsea Engineer focusing on pipeline integrity to join their team in Upington, Northern Cape . This role is essential for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of offshore and onshore pipeline infrastructure used in the transport of oil and gas. You will be responsible for assessing pipeline condition, implementing integrity management programs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of subsea systems, corrosion control, and risk assessment within the Oil & Gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive pipeline integrity management plans.
• Conduct risk-based assessments to identify and prioritize pipeline threats (e.g., corrosion, fatigue, third-party interference).
• Oversee inspection and maintenance activities, including NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) and ROV surveys.
• Analyze pipeline data, including inspection reports and operational history, to assess structural integrity.
• Recommend repair strategies and supervise subsea construction or maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in subsea engineering , with a focus on pipeline integrity.
• Strong understanding of pipeline design, materials, and failure mechanisms.
• Experience with integrity management software and risk assessment methodologies.
• Knowledge of subsea equipment, inspection techniques, and relevant regulations.
• Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills for operations in the Northern Cape .
