Air Traffic Controller

About the Role

Our client requires a vigilant and highly skilled Air Traffic Controller to manage and direct air traffic in the airspace around Richards Bay . You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic, preventing collisions and maintaining situational awareness within your designated sector. This role demands exceptional concentration, rapid decision-making capabilities, and clear communication under pressure. Working within a control tower environment, you will be the critical link ensuring the safety of all flights operating in and out of the region, contributing directly to the efficiency and security of the aviation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control aircraft movements within assigned airspace using radar, visual, and communication systems.
• Provide pilots with essential information, including weather, navigation data, and traffic advisories.
• Issue clearances and instructions to aircraft to ensure safe separation and efficient flow of traffic.
• Coordinate with other air traffic control units and airport operations personnel.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and unusual situations, implementing established protocols.
• Maintain a high level of vigilance and situational awareness at all times.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Air Traffic Controller license and relevant ratings.
• Proven experience in air traffic control, preferably in a comparable airport environment.
• Demonstrated ability to make quick, sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in aviation phraseology.
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations, procedures, and airspace management.
• Ability to pass rigorous medical and background checks.
