Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead their technical team in Durban . This role is critical for maintaining the electrical infrastructure and systems of our operational sites, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance. You will be responsible for supervising a team of electricians, coordinating maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting complex electrical issues. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, deep technical expertise in electrical systems, and a commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment, directly impacting operational continuity and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of electrical maintenance personnel .
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, and lighting.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults and failures, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Ensure all work performed complies with relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Manage the inventory of electrical spare parts and equipment, and oversee procurement processes.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a culture of safety awareness within the team.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in industrial electrical maintenance .
• Proven experience in a supervisory or team lead role within an electrical maintenance context.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs , VFDs, and control panels.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Relevant electrical trade qualification or certification.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
