About the Role

Our client is looking for an innovative Precision Agriculture Specialist to enhance farm management practices in Mahikeng . This role focuses on implementing and utilizing advanced technologies such as GPS, sensors, drones, and data analytics to optimize crop production, resource management, and environmental sustainability. You will work directly with farmers and farm managers to integrate these technologies into their operations, providing training and support to maximize efficiency and profitability. Key Responsibilities

• Advise farmers on the selection, implementation, and operation of precision agriculture technologies.
• Manage and interpret data from various sources, including GPS, yield monitors, soil sensors, and satellite imagery.
• Develop variable rate application maps for fertilizers, pesticides, and irrigation based on data analysis.
• Conduct field assessments and create detailed reports on crop health and performance.
• Provide training and technical support to farm staff on the use of precision agriculture equipment and software.
• Evaluate new technologies and innovations for their potential application in agricultural settings.
• Collaborate with technology providers and researchers to stay at the forefront of precision farming.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Precision Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in precision agriculture or farm technology implementation.
• Proficiency with GIS software, farm management information systems (FMIS), and data analysis tools.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting agricultural machinery and sensor technologies.
• Strong understanding of crop physiology and soil science in relation to precision farming techniques.
• Excellent communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
