About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Urban Designer to join their interdisciplinary team in Port Elizabeth , with a hybrid work arrangement. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of urban environments, focusing on creating sustainable, vibrant, and people-centered public spaces and developments. This role involves close collaboration with architects, planners, and community stakeholders to bring ambitious urban visions to life. Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual master plans and design guidelines for urban regeneration projects.
• Conduct site analyses, feasibility studies, and spatial planning exercises.
• Prepare high-quality visualisations, including plans, sections, 3D models, and renderings.
• Engage with community groups and stakeholders to gather input and build consensus.
• Collaborate with landscape architects, civil engineers, and transportation planners.
• Ensure designs adhere to planning regulations and sustainability principles.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, or Architecture.
• 5+ years of experience in urban design or related field.
• Proficiency in design and visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Strong understanding of urban planning principles, public realm design, and sustainable urbanism.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with hybrid work models and remote collaboration tools.
