About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and qualified Site Construction Engineer to oversee the technical aspects of projects in Richards Bay . This role is critical for ensuring that construction activities are executed according to engineering designs, specifications, and quality standards. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance to site personnel, resolving engineering challenges, and ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the construction work. This position offers a hands-on role in a dynamic industrial and commercial construction environment in KwaZulu-Natal .
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications for construction site implementation.
- Supervise and direct construction activities to ensure they meet engineering standards and project timelines.
- Conduct quality control inspections and testing of materials and workmanship.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and design discrepancies that arise during construction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Prepare technical reports, site records, and documentation related to engineering activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in site engineering for construction projects.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
