Senior Well Intervention Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Well Intervention Engineer to join their operations team in Mossel Bay, Western Cape . This role is essential for managing and optimizing well intervention activities aimed at maintaining and enhancing production from existing oil and gas fields. You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and supervision of a variety of interventions, including workovers, completions, and artificial lift system management. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of wellbore integrity, production optimization techniques, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency within the demanding oil and gas production sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute well intervention programs, including workovers, completions, and P&A (Plug and Abandonment).
• Manage the selection and deployment of appropriate intervention equipment and services.
• Oversee operations at the well site to ensure safety, efficiency, and adherence to procedures.
• Analyze well performance data and recommend solutions for production optimization and problem resolution.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies related to well operations.
• Manage intervention budgets and contractor performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in well operations, with a focus on well intervention and workover engineering in the oil and gas industry .
• Strong knowledge of wellbore integrity, completion designs, artificial lift systems, and slickline/wireline operations.
• Experience with project management and cost control for intervention projects.
• Proficiency in relevant software for wellbore modeling and intervention planning.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
