About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and certified Commercial Vehicle Technician to join their maintenance team in Randburg . This hands-on role is critical for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of their extensive logistics fleet. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks and other commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, a thorough understanding of vehicle systems, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of repair and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic issues on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake adjustments, and fluid checks.
• Repair and replace faulty vehicle components, ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, identifying and reporting potential problems.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques for commercial vehicles.

Requirements

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician, working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of vehicle safety regulations and preventative maintenance practices.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, power tools, and other mechanical equipment effectively.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in a workshop environment, sometimes in challenging conditions.
