Senior Industrial Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to join their team on a remote basis, contributing to their operations based in Durban. This critical role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency, streamline production processes, and implementing innovative solutions to drive productivity and cost savings. You will be responsible for analyzing complex operational data, identifying areas for improvement, and leading the implementation of process enhancements across diverse business units. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of manufacturing and business processes to identify inefficiencies, waste, and opportunities for optimization.
• Design and implement improved workflows, production layouts, and material handling systems.
• Develop and utilize process simulation tools to model potential changes and predict outcomes.
• Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of process improvement projects, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
• Establish and maintain robust performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to track operational progress and identify areas for further enhancement.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and operational staff on industrial engineering principles and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
• Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software, process simulation tools, and data analysis software.
• Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience working effectively in a remote team environment.
