About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Parts Advisor to join their busy service department in Stellenbosch. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for customers and technicians seeking automotive parts. Your responsibilities will include accurately identifying parts, managing inventory, processing orders, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of automotive components and a passion for assisting customers, contributing to the efficient operation of the service center.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and technicians, accurately identifying their parts needs using catalogs and computer systems.
- Source, order, and stock automotive parts, ensuring availability for service and retail customers.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock takes, and identify discrepancies.
- Process customer and workshop orders, handle payments, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Provide technical information and advice to customers regarding parts suitability and installation.
- Maintain a clean and organized parts department, adhering to company standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Parts Advisor or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and terminology.
- Proficiency with parts cataloging software and inventory management systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical qualifications are a plus.
