Construction Project Coordinator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Construction Project Coordinator to support project management teams in Welkom . This role is integral to the smooth operation of construction projects, involving a broad range of administrative and logistical support functions. You will assist with project documentation, scheduling, resource coordination, and communication between various project stakeholders. This is an excellent entry point for individuals passionate about the construction sector looking to build a career in project management within the Free State .

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers in developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking progress , and identifying potential bottlenecks.
• Manage project documentation, including plans, permits, RFIs, submittals, and change orders, ensuring all records are up-to-date and organized.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Facilitate communication between project teams, clients, and other stakeholders through regular updates and meeting minutes.
• Support the procurement process by assisting with requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and assist in maintaining a safe working environment on construction sites.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in an administrative or coordination role, preferably within the construction industry .
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
