About the Role

Our client is seeking a versatile Chemical Engineer to provide essential support and troubleshooting for their manufacturing operations in Randburg . In this hybrid role, you will be the go-to technical expert for addressing immediate process issues, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring plant reliability. You will work closely with production teams to diagnose problems, implement solutions, and contribute to preventative maintenance strategies. This is a hands‑on role for an engineer who enjoys problem‑solving in a dynamic plant environment, balancing on‑site presence with remote planning and analysis, and making a tangible difference in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide immediate technical support to production teams to resolve process upsets and equipment issues.
• Analyze process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and implement solutions to enhance process yield, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations staff on preventative maintenance programs.
• Assist in the commissioning and startup of new equipment or process modifications.
• Contribute to safety reviews and ensure compliance with EHS standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• 2-4 years of experience in a plant‑based chemical engineering role.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
• Good understanding of chemical plant operations and safety procedures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration in a hybrid setting.
