About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Civil Engineer with a specialization in Structural Design to join their fully remote engineering division, serving projects across South Africa. This role is critical for developing innovative and robust structural solutions for a variety of construction projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity and safety of structures through meticulous design and analysis, working independently and collaboratively with a geographically dispersed team. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure, adhering to relevant codes and standards.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using advanced engineering software.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to project teams and clients remotely.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers via digital platforms to ensure design intent is met.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, materials, and best practices in structural engineering .
- Manage design workload and meet project deadlines within a remote work setting.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience focused on structural design.
- Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA.
- Expert proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, Revit Structure).
- Strong understanding of materials science, building codes (SANS), and seismic design principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively in a remote environment.
