Production Engineer - Offshore Platforms

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join their offshore operations team, based near Welkom . This role offers a hybrid work model, balancing essential time offshore with remote office-based responsibilities. You will be responsible for optimizing the production of oil and gas from offshore platforms, ensuring safe and efficient operations. Your expertise in production system analysis, well performance monitoring, and artificial lift methods will be crucial. You will work closely with operations personnel, reservoir engineers, and maintenance teams to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and maintain asset integrity, contributing to the overall success and profitability of the company's upstream ventures.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize production rates and well performance on offshore platforms.
• Analyze production data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
• Implement and manage artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, gas lift) to enhance well productivity.
• Troubleshoot production-related issues, including equipment failures and operational challenges.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and execute routine and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations related to production operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production engineering, specifically within the offshore oil and gas sector.
• Proficiency in production system modeling and analysis software.
• Experience with various artificial lift techniques and production optimization strategies.
• Strong understanding of offshore platform operations and safety procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
