About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Chemical Research Scientist to join their advanced R&D facility in Randburg . This role involves conducting cutting-edge research to develop new chemical products and processes. You will be responsible for designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the intellectual property portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a passion for scientific discovery and a strong background in synthetic or analytical chemistry, aiming to drive technological advancements in the chemical sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and perform laboratory experiments to synthesize, characterize, and test new chemical compounds and materials.
• Analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical methods and interpret results to guide further research.
• Develop new synthetic routes and optimize reaction conditions for efficiency and scalability.
• Maintain comprehensive records of experimental procedures, results, and conclusions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers and product developers.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in relevant fields.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field.
• 2-4 years of postdoctoral or industrial research experience.
• Proven expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, materials science, or analytical chemistry.
• Proficiency with modern laboratory techniques and analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, NMR).
• Strong theoretical understanding and practical application of chemical principles .
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills.
