Job description

Client Account Manager

Company: Legends Legal Marketing

Location: Remote, South Africa

Engagement Type: Independent Contractor

About Legends

Legends Legal Marketing is a web development and digital marketing agency that works exclusively with solo and small law firms across the United States.

We help attorneys grow their businesses through strategic marketing, including SEO, websites, content, social media, paid advertising, email marketing, branding, and more.

We take a lot of pride in the quality of our work and our attention to detail.

Because we work primarily with small law firms, the work we do matters. When a marketing strategy works, a real attorney gets more of the right clients, grows their practice, and builds the business they want.

We’re a fully remote team working from different parts of the world. We value diversity, honesty, creativity, accountability, and people who aren't afraid to bring new ideas to the table.

The Role

As a Client Account Manager, you'll serve as the primary strategic marketing partner for a portfolio of approximately 8–15 law firm clients, depending on the size and scope of the accounts.

This is much more than a client communication role.

You'll get to know each firm's business, practice areas, ideal clients, competitors, goals, and challenges. You'll dig into their marketing data, figure out what the numbers are telling us, identify opportunities, and turn those insights into an actionable marketing strategy.

You'll then collaborate with our SEO, paid search, content, design, web, and operations teams to bring that strategy to life.

As your client portfolio grows, you'll also receive support from a dedicated assistant to help with day-to-day tasks so you can focus more of your time on strategy, quality control, and client relationships.

The best Account Managers at Legends don't simply report numbers to clients. They ask questions like:

  • Why did organic traffic increase, and did it result in better leads?
  • Where are this firm's best cases actually coming from?
  • Which practice areas are growing, and which ones need attention?
  • What are competitors doing that we aren't?
  • What opportunities are we missing?
  • What should we test next?
  • What should our strategy be for the next 30, 60, or 90 days?

Most importantly, they can explain those answers to attorneys in plain language and bring ideas to the table before the client has to ask.

What You'll Do

  • Build trusted relationships with a portfolio of law firm clients and serve as their primary marketing partner
  • Lead regular client strategy meetings via Zoom, including preparing for meetings, reviewing results, setting priorities, and establishing next steps
  • Learn each firm's practice areas, ideal clients, markets, intake process, competitors, goals, and growth opportunities
  • Interpret data from SEO, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, paid advertising, call tracking, lead tracking, and other marketing platforms
  • Turn marketing data into clear recommendations and actionable strategies
  • Review monthly reports before clients receive them and identify the insights that matter most
  • Develop marketing strategies based on client goals, audience, performance data, competitive opportunities, and areas for growth
  • Write high‑quality, well‑researched blog content
  • Write engaging social media content that reflects each client's individual brand and voice
  • Write and edit website copy, emails, newsletters, and other marketing content when needed
  • Review and edit content created by other team members
  • Quality‑check content for accuracy, tone, brand voice, SEO, formatting, links, and calls to action before it goes live
  • Collaborate with our SEO, paid search, content, design, web, and operations teams to keep projects moving
  • Identify opportunities for clients, such as new markets, stronger practice area content, better conversion strategies, advertising opportunities, or new campaigns
  • Keep client projects organized and make sure priorities, deadlines, and deliverables don't slip
  • Proactively communicate with clients and internal teams when something needs attention

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, digital marketing, or marketing strategy, ideally within a digital marketing agency
  • Experience working directly with clients and managing multiple client relationships
  • Experience with law firms or other professional service businesses is a major plus
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • The ability to research and write a strong, informative blog from start to finish
  • The ability to write engaging social media copy in different client voices and styles
  • The ability to take a client's goals and marketing data and build a thoughtful, actionable marketing strategy
  • Comfort working with marketing data. You don't need to be a data analyst, but you should enjoy finding the story behind the numbers
  • A sharp eye for detail. You're the person who catches the wrong attorney name, broken link, awkward sentence, or incorrect phone number before the client does
  • Confidence communicating directly with attorneys and business owners, including navigating difficult conversations when necessary
  • Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines independently
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Experience working remotely and collaborating with an international team
  • Curiosity about SEO, paid search, AI search, content marketing, and the constantly changing digital marketing landscape
  • A proactive mindset. You don't wait for a client or team member to tell you there is a problem before you start looking for a solution

Tools You'll Use

Our team works with tools including:

Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Ads, Ahrefs, CallRail, Looker Studio, Teamwork, Slack, Zoom, and other digital marketing platforms.

Working With Our U.S.-Based Clients

This is a fully remote role based in South Africa.

Because you'll be working directly with law firms throughout the United States, you must be comfortable being available for scheduled client meetings and team collaboration during agreed-upon U.S. business hours.

Outside of scheduled meetings, client needs, agreed-upon availability, and deadlines, you'll have flexibility in how you organize your work.

What We Offer

  • Competitive monthly contractor compensation based on experience
  • Fully remote collaboration
  • A dedicated assistant as your client portfolio grows
  • Flexibility in how you structure your work while meeting client needs, deadlines, and agreed-upon availability
  • The opportunity to work directly with U.S.-based law firms and develop sophisticated digital marketing strategies
  • Long-term opportunity for the right contractor
  • An established team of SEO, content, paid advertising, design, web, and operations professionals to collaborate with
  • A small, collaborative international team where your ideas are heard and your work makes a visible difference
  • Opportunities to learn, grow, and take on greater responsibility as Legends continues to grow

Independent Contractor Relationship

This is a remote independent contractor opportunity and is not a U.S. W-2 employee position.

The contractor will be responsible for their own taxes, insurance, equipment, and other obligations associated with their independent contractor status in their country of residence. Compensation, responsibilities, and the scope of the engagement will be outlined in an independent contractor agreement.
