Operations Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Operations Engineer to optimize and manage daily plant operations in Soweto. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe functioning of manufacturing processes. You will work closely with production teams, maintenance, and management to troubleshoot issues, implement process improvements, and achieve production targets. This is a critical role for driving operational excellence within the industrial sector of Gauteng, contributing to the company's overall success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.


• Troubleshoot operational problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.


• Collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize equipment reliability and implement preventative maintenance programs.


• Analyze operational data to identify areas for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.


• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.


• Support the implementation of new processes and technologies within the plant.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.


• 3-5 years of experience in operations or plant engineering roles.


• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.


• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.


• Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.


• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
