Senior Chemical Engineer - Project Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Engineer with strong Project Management skills to lead key capital projects at their facility in Upington . This role demands a strategic thinker capable of managing projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. You will oversee all phases of project execution, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and closing of complex chemical engineering projects.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resources effectively to ensure successful delivery.
• Develop project specifications, tender documents, and manage contractor performance.
• Ensure all projects comply with company safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality requirements.
• Oversee the design and engineering phases, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants.
• Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical engineering, with at least 5 years in project management.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale capital projects in the chemical industry.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
