Aviation Safety & Compliance Auditor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Aviation Safety & Compliance Auditor to join their corporate office in Soweto . This critical role ensures that all operational activities and procedures adhere strictly to national and international aviation safety regulations and standards. You will conduct comprehensive audits, identify potential risks, and develop strategies for continuous improvement in safety and compliance across the organization, playing a vital role in maintaining the highest levels of operational integrity and safety within the aviation industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits of operational procedures, safety management systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Assess adherence to regulations set forth by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) and other relevant bodies.
• Identify non-compliance issues, safety hazards, and areas for operational improvement.
• Prepare detailed audit reports, outlining findings, risks, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Follow up on corrective actions to ensure their effective implementation and verification.
• Stay updated on changes in aviation legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the company's Safety Management System (SMS).

Requirements

• Relevant degree or professional qualification in aviation management, safety, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Aviation Auditor or in a senior safety/compliance role within the aviation sector.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., SACAA, ICAO standards) and safety management principles.
• Strong understanding of aviation operational processes and MRO practices.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional report writing and presentation abilities.
• Ability to travel as required for audits.
