Leisure Centre Duty Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and capable Leisure Centre Duty Manager to oversee the daily operations of their modern leisure facility in Stellenbosch . This position requires a hands-on approach to managing staff, ensuring high standards of customer service, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons. You will be responsible for managing shifts, responding to operational needs, and contributing to the overall success of the centre. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for the leisure and fitness industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise staff during assigned shifts, ensuring operational efficiency and service quality.
• Ensure the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained, addressing any issues promptly.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and effective manner.
• Implement and enforce all centre policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
• Assist with the development and delivery of recreational programs and activities.
• Conduct regular facility checks and complete duty reports accurately.

Requirements

• Previous experience (2-3 years) in a supervisory or management role within a leisure, hospitality, or fitness environment.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to leisure facilities.
• First Aid certification is an advantage.
