Senior Payroll Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced and meticulous Senior Payroll Specialist to manage their payroll operations entirely from a remote setting , supporting their business based in Paarl . This role is critical for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for all employees. You will be responsible for managing the full payroll cycle, adhering to all relevant legislation, and providing support to employees regarding payroll queries. The ideal candidate thrives in an independent work environment, possesses exceptional attention to detail, and has a deep understanding of payroll systems and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and process the full payroll cycle accurately and efficiently for all employees.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant South African payroll legislation, including BCEA, LRA, and tax regulations (PAYE).
• Manage employee data, new hires, terminations, and changes in payroll systems.
• Process statutory payments, including UIF, SDL, and PAYE, accurately and on time.
• Respond to employee payroll queries and provide clear explanations and resolutions.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, with a strong emphasis on South African payroll.
• Proven experience with payroll software (e.g., VIP, Sage Payroll, PaySpace).
• In-depth knowledge of payroll legislation, tax implications, and statutory deductions.
• Excellent data management skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines in a remote environment .
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to assist employees effectively.
