Senior Industrial Engineer - Logistics & Supply Chain

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Industrial Engineer with specialized expertise in Logistics and Supply Chain to join their operations center in Vereeniging. This role is paramount in optimizing the flow of goods, information, and resources from point of origin to point of consumption. You will analyze and redesign warehousing, transportation, and distribution networks to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs. This is a strategic position for an engineer who excels at complex system design and driving impactful improvements in supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing logistics and supply chain operations to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Design, implement, and manage optimal warehouse layouts, material handling systems, and distribution networks.
• Develop and refine inventory management strategies to balance stock levels with demand and reduce carrying costs.
• Utilize supply chain simulation and modeling tools to evaluate different network designs and operational scenarios.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure seamless integration of supply chain activities.
• Implement transportation management systems and optimize routing and carrier selection to reduce costs and improve delivery times in Vereeniging.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering with a strong focus on logistics and supply chain optimization.
• Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data modeling, simulation software, and optimization techniques.
• Experience in network design, inventory planning, and freight management.
