About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated 5G Network Deployment Engineer to play a crucial role in rolling out next-generation mobile infrastructure in Nelspruit and the surrounding Mpumalanga region. You will be responsible for the physical installation, configuration, and commissioning of 5G network elements, ensuring they meet design specifications and performance standards. This role requires hands-on experience with 5G equipment and a strong understanding of deployment processes. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission 5G base stations and related network equipment.
- Perform site surveys and prepare detailed deployment plans.
- Conduct integration testing and troubleshooting to ensure successful network deployment.
- Work closely with network planning and operations teams to validate network performance post-deployment.
- Ensure all deployments adhere to safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support during the initial operational phase of new 5G sites.
- Document deployment activities, including configuration details and test results.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mobile network deployment, with specific experience in 4G/LTE and/or 5G.
- Hands-on experience with 5G RAN equipment (e.g., radios, basebands) from major vendors.
- Understanding of 5G architecture, including NSA and SA modes.
- Familiarity with RF principles and basic antenna systems.
- Ability to read and interpret network design blueprints and technical documentation.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
