Buyer - Industrial Supplies

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer with a focus on industrial supplies to join their established team based in Tembisa . This on-site role is critical for maintaining optimal inventory levels and ensuring the timely procurement of essential materials needed for operations. Key Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase a wide range of industrial supplies and equipment, ensuring best value and quality.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, and contracts to ensure service level agreements are met.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and forecast future needs to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
• Process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and track order fulfillment status.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand their material requirements and ensure timely supply.
• Monitor market prices and trends for industrial supplies to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing or buyer role, preferably within an industrial sector.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and procurement best practices.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple orders.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.
