About the Role

Our client, a specialized automotive workshop in Vereeniging , is seeking a dedicated Automotive Electrical Technician to join their expert team. This role focuses specifically on diagnosing, repairing, and installing complex electrical systems in a wide variety of vehicles. You will be instrumental in solving intricate electrical issues, from basic wiring problems to advanced electronic control unit (ECU) diagnostics. This is a hands-on position for a meticulous technician passionate about the intricacies of automotive electrical systems and committed to delivering high-quality, reliable repairs for our discerning clientele.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair all types of automotive electrical systems, including lighting, power windows, audio systems, and onboard computers.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and scan tools to identify electrical faults accurately.
• Install and configure new electrical components, such as alarms, tracking devices, and infotainment systems.
• Perform complex troubleshooting of electronic control modules (ECMs), anti-lock braking systems (ABS), and other integrated vehicle electronics.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics to effectively trace and repair circuits.
• Ensure all electrical work is performed safely and meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Electrical Technician or a similar specialized role.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive electrical theory, circuit tracing, and diagnostic techniques.
• Proficiency with advanced diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
• Experience with CAN bus systems, engine control units (ECUs), and other complex automotive electronics is crucial.
• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in automotive electrical systems are highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
