Community Facilitator

About the Role

Our client is looking for an energetic and organized Community Facilitator to engage with residents and community groups in Centurion . This role is pivotal in empowering local communities by organizing workshops, events, and training sessions that address social needs and promote development. You will be responsible for identifying community needs, mobilizing local resources, and fostering collaboration among residents and stakeholders in the Gauteng area. This position requires a proactive individual with a passion for community empowerment and a talent for bringing people together to achieve common goals within the Community & Social Care framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and assess the needs and assets of the local community in Centurion .
• Plan, organize, and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and public forums.
• Mobilize community members to participate in local development initiatives and projects.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community residents, local leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate and manage the logistical aspects of community events and activities.
• Provide support and guidance to community groups and emerging leaders.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in community development, social sciences, or a related field is advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience in community engagement, facilitation, or project coordination.
• Strong organizational, planning, and event management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to engage diverse groups.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often outside of standard office hours.
• Understanding of community dynamics and development principles within the Community & Social Care sector.
