I am recruiting for an established international travel business looking for a hands-on Accountant to join its Group Finance team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond articles into a commercial environment and gain broader exposure across multiple companies, currencies and international operations.

Key responsibilties:

• General ledger accounting and journal processing.
• Bank, supplier and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Creditors, supplier payments and account management.
• Month-end accounting and supporting schedules.
• Accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and VAT.
• Intercompany and multi-entity accounting.
• Working across multiple currencies and foreign currency transactions.
• Supporting management accounts, cash-flow reporting and variance analysis.
• Investigating discrepancies and taking ownership through to resolution.
• Assisting with year-end, audits and improving financial controls.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

• Relevant Accounting / Finance qualification.
• Completed SAICA, SAIPA or equivalent accounting articles - essential.
• Strong practical accounting and reconciliation experience.
• Good understanding of month-end processes and journals.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Someone who can work independently and doesn't need step-step supervision.
• Multi-company, multi-currency or intercompany experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with Sage, Xero or QuickBooks would be beneficial.
• Location: Remote within South Africa, with occasional team meet-ups in Fourways, Johannesburg
• Salary: R25 000 - R32 000 per month
• Start: Ideally November/December
• Leave: 15 days annual leave + public holidays
