Threat Intelligence Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Threat Intelligence Analyst to join their security operations center in Polokwane . You will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating threat intelligence to help the organization anticipate and defend against cyber attacks. This role involves monitoring various sources for threat indicators, assessing their relevance and impact, and providing actionable insights to the security team. You will play a vital part in enhancing the organization's defensive capabilities by providing timely and accurate threat information, enabling proactive security measures against evolving adversaries and their tactics, techniques, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze open-source intelligence (OSINT), dark web, and other threat data sources for emerging threats.
• Identify, collect, and analyze indicators of compromise (IOCs) and tactical, operational, and strategic threat information.
• Develop threat actor profiles, including their motivations, capabilities, and preferred TTPs.
• Produce regular threat intelligence reports and briefings for security operations, leadership, and other stakeholders.
• Support incident response activities by providing relevant threat context and actor information.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to share and receive threat intelligence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, International Relations, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in threat intelligence, cybersecurity analysis, or a related intelligence discipline.
• Proficiency in analyzing various types of threat data (e.g., malware, phishing campaigns, network indicators).
• Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms (TIPs) and cyber threat frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK).
• Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
