About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Local Delivery Specialist to join their distribution team in East London. This role is essential for ensuring the timely and secure delivery of goods to customers within the local metropolitan area. You will be responsible for operating a company vehicle, navigating efficiently, and maintaining a high standard of customer service. The successful candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a thorough knowledge of the East London region, and the physical capability to handle goods safely, playing a vital role in maintaining our client's reputation for reliable distribution services.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily deliveries accurately and efficiently to customers throughout the East London area.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned delivery vehicle.
• Load and unload packages and goods carefully, ensuring their safety and integrity.
• Provide professional and courteous service to all customers upon delivery.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and logs, reporting any issues encountered.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety procedures.

Requirements

• Valid South African driver's license (Code 10 preferred) with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar transport role.
• In-depth knowledge of the East London road network and surrounding vicinities.
• Ability to lift and carry packages of various weights and sizes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
