Remote Metallurgist

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly skilled and adaptable Remote Metallurgist to contribute to their mineral processing operations. This position operates on a fully remote basis, focusing on process optimization, troubleshooting, and metallurgical accounting for various mining sites. You will leverage your expertise in mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, and pyrometallurgy to enhance recovery rates, improve product quality, and reduce operational costs. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who can effectively analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights from a distance, fostering collaboration with on-site teams through advanced communication tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze metallurgical test results and plant data to optimize mineral processing circuits.
• Develop and implement strategies for improving metal recovery and concentrate grade.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide remote technical support to plant personnel.
• Conduct metallurgical accounting and reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Research and recommend new technologies and process improvements.
• Collaborate with R&D teams on pilot plant studies and process scale-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral processing and metallurgy.
• Strong understanding of flotation, leaching, smelting, and refining processes.
• Proficiency in metallurgical simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote team environment and communicate complex technical information clearly.
