Business Applications Manager | Allport Cargo Services

Owns the business application ecosystem and technical solution capability supporting Freight Forwarding / POM and eCommerce. The role ensures solutions are technically sound, scalable, secure, supportable and sustainably operated, while providing the technical counterpart to the Business Process Manager.

Key Performance Areas

• Own the business-application and integration landscape supporting POM and eCommerce.
• Maintain application, integration and capability roadmaps aligned to business priorities.
• Ensure platforms remain scalable, reliable and fit for growth.

Solution & Technical Governance

• Own technical solution governance and assurance.
• Ensure solution designs meet integration, security, performance, supportability and architectural requirements.
• Challenge service-provider proposals and strengthen internal technical decision-making.

Technical Delivery & Integration

• Oversee technical analysis, specifications, integrations and implementation.
• Coordinate technical resources, developers and service providers.
• Ensure appropriate system, integration and technical testing.

Application Support & Service Management

• Own the application support operating model and escalation pathways.
• Establish incident, problem, monitoring and service-performance practices.
• Ensure formal project-to-support handover and knowledge transfer.

Data, BI, Security & Controls

• Govern BI/reporting capability and ensure data/reporting requirements are included early in solution design.
• Establish data quality and reporting standards.
• Govern application access, technical controls, auditability and security in coordination with relevant technology/security teams.

Capability & Vendor Management

• Develop Technical, Support and BI Analyst capability.
• Manage key technology/service-provider relationships and performance.
• Ensure institutional technical knowledge is retained internally.

Qualifications Required

• Relevant Information Systems, Technology, Business or related qualification.

Experience and Skills Required

• Significant experience managing enterprise applications, integrations and support.
• Experience with vendor/service-provider governance.
• Logistics, freight forwarding, POM or eCommerce systems experience advantageous.
