Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly scientific and engaging Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join their team, covering the Paarl and surrounding Western Cape territory. As an MSL, you will serve as a key scientific and medical interface between the company and key opinion leaders (KOLs) within the medical and scientific community. Your primary focus will be on disseminating complex scientific information, gathering insights on disease states and emerging research, and supporting the responsible use of the company's therapeutic products. This role requires a deep understanding of therapeutic areas and excellent communication skills to build strong scientific relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong, credible relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, and healthcare professionals in your designated territory.
• Provide accurate, balanced, and scientifically rigorous information on the company's products and therapeutic areas.
• Gather insights on unmet medical needs, competitive intelligence, and scientific trends from KOLs.
• Support clinical trial activities, including investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and site identification.
• Present scientific data at medical congresses, symposia, and other scientific forums.
• Collaborate with internal medical affairs, clinical development, and R&D teams to ensure alignment of scientific strategies.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree (Ph.D., Pharm.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a relevant life science discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical science liaison or similar medical affairs role.
• Demonstrated expertise in a specific therapeutic area relevant to the company's portfolio.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand and articulate complex scientific and clinical data.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory, including Paarl and the broader Western Cape region.
