Senior Geophysicist - Seismic Interpretation

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Geophysicist to join their fully remote exploration team, specializing in seismic interpretation and subsurface analysis for the oil and gas industry. This role involves the detailed interpretation of complex seismic datasets to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon prospects. You will work closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to build integrated subsurface models and provide critical insights that guide exploration and development decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced seismic data interpretation, including 2D/3D seismic, attribute analysis, and AVO analysis.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information to build robust subsurface models.
• Identify and assess drilling targets and evaluate exploration risks associated with potential prospects.
• Utilize industry-standard geophysical software (e.g., Petrel, HampsonRussell, Jason) for interpretation and analysis.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a remote setting to ensure seamless project progression.
• Mentor junior geophysicists and contribute to the development of geophysical best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geophysics, Physics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in seismic interpretation and geophysical analysis within the oil and gas exploration sector.
• Strong proficiency with major seismic interpretation software packages.
• In-depth understanding of seismic acquisition, processing, and attribute analysis.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
