About the Role

Our client seeks a dynamic and experienced Ground Handling Supervisor to oversee all ground operations at their facility in Welkom . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient turnaround of aircraft on the ground. You will lead a team of ground handling agents, coordinate services such as baggage handling, passenger services, and aircraft servicing, and maintain high standards of operational performance and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on leadership position with significant responsibility for day-to-day operational success in the aviation environment .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct a team of ground handling staff, ensuring adherence to operational procedures and safety standards.
• Coordinate all ground handling activities, including baggage loading/unloading, aircraft pushback, and catering services.
• Monitor aircraft turnaround times and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.
• Ensure compliance with all aviation safety regulations and company policies.
• Train new ground handling staff and conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Liaise with flight crews, station management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
• Manage inventory of ground support equipment and report any maintenance needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in ground handling operations within the aviation industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent understanding of aircraft ground handling procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with ground support equipment operations and maintenance.
