Job Title: Junior Millwright
Location: Cape Town (Stikland)
Remuneration: R28 000 per month

Our client in the FMCG Food Industry is looking to employ a Junior Millwright in Cape Town.

Install, assemble, and disassemble machinery and equipment according to blueprints and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal functionality.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Mechanical and Electrical issues on production and plant machinery.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools.
• Align and calibrate machinery to meet operational requirements.
• Weld and fabricate machine components as needed.
• Collaborate with other maintenance and production teams to address equipment-related challenges.
• Follow safety protocols and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules.
• Keep accurate CMMS records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Stay updated with advancements in industrial technology and machinery.

Skills/Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience as a Millwright, Strong in Mechanical and Electrical.
• Mechanical Systems: Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
• Electrical Systems: Read schematics and trace electrical faults.
• Blueprints:â¯Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electricalâ¯drawings and blueprints.
• Troubleshooting:â¯Strong PLC troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Physical:â¯Physical fitness and dexterity to handle heavy machinery and equipment.
• Teamwork:â¯Teamwork and communication skills for collaboration with other maintenance and production staff.
• Health & Safety Regulations: Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in an industrial setting.
• Food Safety: Knowledge of GMP and FSSC/HACCP standards.
• Attention to Detail:â¯Attention to detail and accuracy in performing maintenance tasks.
• Continuous Learning:â¯Continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies and equipment in the industrial sector.
• Previous experience: â¯FMCG Industry and Refrigeration preferred.

Qualifications:

• N3 -N6
• Millwright Qualification Trade /Red Seal (Eletromechanician /Millwright Trade Tested) preferred
• At least 5 years, post trade, experience in a Millwright position
