SCHOOL MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT — Primary School

Are you a practical, reliable, and detail-oriented individual ready to take pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment? Kommetjie Primary School is looking for a dedicated and suitably experienced School Maintenance Assistant to care for our indoor spaces, provide refreshment services, and assist with school functions starting January 2027. If you take pride in high standards of cleanliness, hospitality, and ensuring our facilities provide a pleasant space for our children and staff, we want to hear from you.
- Proven experience in professional cleaning, housekeeping, or hospitality within a school, corporate, or similar environment
- Experience in preparing refreshments and assisting with catering or event coordination for functions
- A strong understanding of health, hygiene, and safety standards
- Valid Police Clearance Certificate
- Reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team
The successful candidate should:
- have a proactive approach to maintaining pristine interior spaces and managing daily cleaning schedules;
- possess good interpersonal skills and relate warmly and professionally with children, staff, and visitors;
- be well-organised and capable of managing event preparation and refreshments efficiently;
- have a warm, positive disposition and uphold the ethos of the school;
- be physically fit and able to handle the active demands of cleaning, hosting, and event support.
