Key Responsibilities

• Structure, draft, and negotiate complex finance documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and intercreditor arrangements.
• Advise on regulatory requirements applicable to banking and financial services in South Africa .
• Conduct legal due diligence for financing transactions.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and other advisors on complex transactions.
• Provide legal support for the bank's various business units and product development initiatives.
• Assist in resolving disputes and managing litigation related to finance transactions.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience in banking and finance law, ideally within a major law firm or financial institution.
• Proven experience in handling significant debt finance transactions (syndicated loans, leveraged finance, etc.).
• Strong understanding of financial markets, relevant legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple high-value transactions concurrently.
• Professionalism and ability to work effectively under pressure in Sandton .
